Help for Families
When a loved one has a mental illness it causes stress. You
need to look after your mental health for your own sake and
for the sake of your loved one. At the beginning, especially,
you will need information and support to be able to care for
and give help to your affected family member.
NAMI Family-to-Family
Education Program
CMHA Toronto sponsors this free course of twelve classes
co-taught by family members. The course is designed for family
members of people who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia,
major depression, bipolar illness (manic depression), panic
disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, borderline personality
disorder, or who exhibit behaviours that strongly suggest
one of these diagnoses.
The course is run in the fall at our Lawrence Avenue West
site.

offers this ten-week family education course co-taught by
family members.

The Family Outreach and Response Program, located at the
Queen Street site of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
offers this free eight-week family education series.
