NEXT! Peer Support Program
Keele Street Women's Group
is a social support program that facilitates the recovery
of women living in Toronto who have serious and persistent
mental illness. This community based program provides opportunities
for peer support, skills development and consumer leadership.
The group offers an inclusive and supportive environment,
allowing members to build new relationships and mutual experiences
with others, to promote a sense of belonging. Through its
workshops and activities, facilitated by staff and peers,
members learn new skills to live healthier lifestyles, and
participate in social, cultural and recreational experiences.

The Social Resource Centre

the recovery of consumers who have serious and persistent
mental illness living in Toronto, North York, Etobicoke and
Scarborough by providing opportunities for peer support, skills
development and leadership. The SRC offers an inclusive and
supportive environment, allowing consumers to build new relationships
and mutual experiences with others, to promote a sense of
belonging. Through workshops and activities, which are facilitated
by professionals and peers, consumers learn new skills to
live healthier lifestyles and participate in social, cultural
and recreational experiences.

WHAT NEXT! Peer Support Program
What Next! Peer Support Drop-in Centre is a membership-driven
meeting place where people recovering from mental health or
mental health and addiction issues can share with others and
gain social emotion support. Although the program has existed
for ten years, it has recently partnered with the CMHA Toronto
to expand its services to four days week to
- Promote wellness and recovery through opportunities for
social support
- Offer members personal growth through recreational and
educational activities
- Empower members to participate and assume leadership in
the program's operation and development
- Work collaboratively with other community mental health
providers to build its service capacity while maintaining
autonomy as a peer initiative
What Next! Operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. for administration, advocacy, planning and telephone
support.
