Since the onset of the pandemic, CMHA Toronto has done everything possible to protect the health and safety of our clients, families, staff and community members, while keeping safe options available for individuals in need of mental health care. As part of our ongoing commitment to community safety and accessibility, CMHA Toronto has been actively working with Toronto Public Health to assist with vaccine distribution, ensuring that the COVID-19 vaccine is accessible to the vulnerable populations we serve.
In collaboration with our North Western Toronto Ontario Health Partner, Humber River Hospital, CMHA Toronto hosted our first community vaccination clinic at our Routes Community Centre earlier this week. CMHA Toronto staff, clients, community partners and community members who reside in the North West Toronto catchment area were given the opportunity to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. We are happy to report that the entire vaccine supply was distributed, with 400 people receiving their first dose, and many clients stating that they would not have received it if CMHA Toronto had not hosted the clinic.
A special thank you to our staff and Humber River Hospital for supporting our clients, staff and community and making this pop-up vaccination clinic possible. CMHA Toronto will continue to support the city’s pandemic response to protect the safety of our community.
